What is Chiropractic treatment & how can we help?
Chiropractors specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions which are due to mechanical dysfunction of the joints, especially those of the spine, and their effects on the nervous system.
Chiropractors use their hands to adjust the joints of your spine and other areas of the body where signs of restrictions in the movement are found. This improves mobility and relieves pain.
Poor, inadequate or incorrect function of the spine can cause irritation of the nerves that control your posture and movement. By adjusting joints, chiropractors stimulate the joint movement receptors affecting the way your nervous system works.
What to expect
On first meeting you, the chiropractor will take a detailed history of your health, your reasons for seeking consultation and a full examination will then be undertaken.
Sometimes treatment is immediate, at other times it may be necessary to seek further information or to arrange x-rays, blood or urine tests from your GP. Your individual needs and your role in the treatment plan will be discussed and considered with you at all times.
